Out with the old, in with the new

We just got new windows! Yea and boo. We will miss our old 1947 wooden glider windows. They were one of a kind- seriously. The only problem was they leaked cold air like nobodies business so we have had super steep heating bills for the past 4 years. That said, money talks. So we decided to upgrade to triple pane *collective "oooo" from the crowd. The crew that came to replace our windows all comented on how interesting our old windows were, one of them even said he have never seen anything like them. That made my stomache twist with a little. Anyway, the deed is done and we are so loving the new ones. Our house is noticeably quieter and even a little warmer. I'm hoping to sell the old ones to some antique shop or some home decor place.

YAY! for new windows. Sounds like your old ones were really one of a kind though. I hope you hang onto one of them.

I bet your heating/cooling systems are already thanking you. Way to go. Window over haul is not cheep. And its done and finished. Horray for good home improvments!

Tough call! I love old things, but the heating bill speak loud and clear. Can't wait to see what cool things you do with your windows, though. My aunt used hers as the frame to a shadow box of sorts and arranged some bric-a-brac and dried flowers inside.
