Dust

Pearl often reminds me of the wonderful little things in life that I take for granted. She drops her jaw and does a sharp intake of breath every time she encounters something fascinating, like a big truck going by on the road or an ant scurrying across the sidewalk. This is often accompanied by a soft and awe-filled "Wow." She loves it when the sun light in the laundry room shines just right and lights up the dust particles that are floating in the air. She tries to catch them and laughs at how they swirl around. To be a kid.

Shopping Cart

Pearl has learned a new trick with shopping carts. She grabs on to the bottom and starts running. She is great on speed but poor on steering. She is getting better on stopping. The first time she stopped she didn't realize that stopping her feet wasn't going to instantly stop the shopping cart, so it kept on going and drug her for a little ways. Now she realizes that she has to slowly slow down. Pretty smart girl, if I don't say so myself.

More Pottery

While in Utah last we went down to my father's classroom. I made the jars and the toothbrush holder. Nat made the plates.

Here are some pictures.

Post

For a while now we've had the back of our fence teetering on destruction. One post had rotted through at the base and we only being held up by the strength of the neighboring posts. Well, the day finally came, last Saturday, that said post was replaced.
