No.

Pearl has learned the word "no." She first said it after she whacked me with a large lotion bottle in the nose and I said to her, "OW! NO!" She then said, "no, no, no, no." Now she loves to walk around the house chanting it every now and then. She has taken to saying it most often when she is in the bathroom and starts to walk behind to toilet to access the plunger and toilet cleaner. She says, "no, no, no" as she walks closer and closer (I have told her "no" for doing that a few times...).

Pearl can walk!!

It happened yesterday. She was quietly playing on the floor while I was reading the paper. She picked up a drum mallet in each hand and then took 4-5 steps over to me with a little smile on her face. I was dumbfounded! She walked again (although she was not happy about it) for the camera (below) but hasn't wanted to walk since. Strange.

Snow Fun

Eat your hearts out hot weather lovers! Ok, really I'm jealous of you. Stress starts to flow through my veins at the first sign of snow fall here. I dread driving in it. I loathe driving in it. I would rather eat shrimp and play bloody video games. Someday we will live in a year-round sunny place. It was fun to see Bryan get all excited about his mammoth snow man though. It was so big, the head and body rolled off the very next day. Bryan still thinks it was some mischievous teenagers who did it.

Just some recent Pearl funnies...

The video is about 4 minutes.

Turning 30

Yesterday I turned the big 30. People kept asking me how it felt to be 30 and I would reply, "It doesn't feel any different to me. I just feel a day older, just like I did yesterday." The only difference seems to be that I just need to remember to write in the correct age when I fill out forms.

One thing I have noticed lately about myself has been that I am developing more and more preferences in life. I've decided I don't like to sleep with tied quilts because the yarn tickles my face when I'm trying to fall asleep. I don't like going to the grocery store during rush hour. I like natural, chunky peanut butter better than the cheap, smooth kind that I used to buy. I like to do laundry on Wednesdays. I like to put on my seatbelt after I start the car. I don't like being over-productive. I only like a certain brand of wheat crackers. I like to fix things myself. I think I can better understand now why older people always seem to have so many strict preferences like always having to wear driving gloves, or always having the same thing for breakfast. I seem to be heading there myself.
