Pearl is now 18 months old. She had her appointment yesterday. She is in the 40th percentile for weight, 60th for height and 89th for head circumference. She is way ahead in gross motor skills but lacking in communication. All in all, a healthy little girl!

Out with the old, in with the new
We just got new windows! Yea and boo. We will miss our old 1947 wooden glider windows. They were one of a kind- seriously. The only problem was they leaked cold air like nobodies business so we have had super steep heating bills for the past 4 years. That said, money talks. So we decided to upgrade to triple pane *collective "oooo" from the crowd. The crew that came to replace our windows all comented on how interesting our old windows were, one of them even said he have never seen anything like them. That made my stomache twist with a little. Anyway, the deed is done and we are so loving the new ones. Our house is noticeably quieter and even a little warmer. I'm hoping to sell the old ones to some antique shop or some home decor place.

Puree
I am trying an experiment. I am borrowing a cook book from my neighbor that is all about adding pureed vegetables to regular recipes called "Deceptively Delicious." I want to try to boost the overall healthiness of our food, so here I go! So far I have tried several recipes and like most of them. My favorites are adding squash to mac and cheese and carrots to deviled eggs.

Drawing Table
I recently made a drawing table out of a cardboard box since Pearl has been into drawing so much lately. I tied the colored pencils and crayons on to strings so they wouldn't get lost. The first day she used the crayons, she started eating them. Mmmm.

Speech Test
I've had a couple surgeries and have been seeing a speech therapist. There is some debate about methods that sound better. As such, I've devised this speech test. Please take 43 seconds to listen to the clip. In the clip I read the same passage of a children's book three times. The order of the sequence is random in terms of method used. Please listen and vote for which segment you think sounds best, from a speech perspective.
