Drag!

Natalie, for my Father's day present, gave me tickets to see drag race. I've always wanted to see one. Top fuel dragsters have always been amazing to me. It was quite the experience. The sound of the cars takes your breath away as your pounded by the concussion waves of the pistons. Turns out I think I prefer funny cars to top fuel dragsters. They just look more like cars.

Check out our video. Be sure to turn the sound WAY up.

Oh Cauliflower, Where Art Thou?

For some reason we have been successful in growing most things like broccoli, lettuce, peppers, etc., but not cauliflower. This lovely shot of our non-existant cauliflower is shown sideways as chosen by the weird blog image uploading phenomenon.
We are very proud of our cabbage as it is our first year to try them and they are actually growing! Unfortunately there is a cabbage-loving bug living in our garden and I just can't kill it. I just hope they grow to maturity before the bug eats too much of them. Die scum bug!!! Stay away from our little cabbage patch babies!!

Owee Stickers

Mommy got an owee when she was shaving in the shower. This happens a lot. Mommy got to put a cool snoopy bandaid on her owee. Pearl thought this sticker was so cool that she immediately tried to take it off mommy and put it on herself. Mommy got Pearl a new owee sticker and Pearl decided she wanted it on her foot, just like Mommy. Afterwards, she decided the toilet needed her sticker more.

Pearleese

Pearl's vocabulary is starting to rapidly expand. She approximates quite a few important words like:
"dit" (dirt)
"dick" (stick)
"t" (blanket)
"eeyoh" (here you go)
"ahdidit" (I did it)
"nam" (food)
"upanun" (up and down)
"do" (go)
"waseee!" (general exclamation for something way exciting like a bird or a truck)
"uhmon!" (come on!)

Here is a video illustrating "uhmon." She decided to take the tape measure for a walk and felt it necessary to encourage it as she dragged it along.

Photo Fixups

Mom Burningham is a photo editing guru. We are lucky to have her in the family. She spent a bunch of time fixing up some photos that I thought I would post.

Natalie attempting to surf. Getting beaten up by the waves.

Pearl could live on a swing. As long as someone is there to push her all day and all night.

Pearl is already a shoe hoarder. Ok, so her mom is. Baby shoes are irresistable aren't they?
